In the center of the palm, a former souk adobe architecture typical of the region comes alive every Thursday for the weekly market. At his side stand the walls of an ancient Kasbah still partially inhabited by some village elders.

The ruins of an ancient fortified palace overlooking the park and reflect the strategic importance once represented access to this oasis. The forts were not only a great defensive system, but also a position ideal surveillance to spy on the comings and goings of people and caravans.
